Absolutely! Just remove them, clean thoroughly, let dry, then prime, then paint. Let dry well, then replace.

I have spray painted metal pulls with good results. You may want do use a high grit sandpaper and rough them up a bit, but you should have no problem
I did this too, lightly sanded, metal primed, dried for 24 hrs, then rustoleum. Looks beautiful!
Use a spray paint for metal and you won't get brush marks, Rustoleum even has metallics and textures to choose from.

Yes. I scrubbed mine very well and let dry 24 hours. Then I spray painted them gold. Made all the difference. Mine were fake brass to begin with.
