starter fertilizer should have been applied prior to laying the sod.
Looks beautiful. Before you pay them, inspect carefully and have them fix anything not to your liking. They should leave you with new sod care instructions - any decent service does this, but if, by chance, they do not, here you go.

I wouldn't fertilize until you know that the roots are well established in the soil underneath, otherwise you could burn them.
If a rooting fertilizer was not tilled into the soil before the sod was laid, I would wait at least a month and then put down a weed and feed product, then repeat 2 times a year if you have a period of lawn dormancy, or 3 times a year if you do not have a period of lawn dormancy.

TRY zoysia grass. They are strong in hot sun and don’t need as much water.
