Re-pot in fresh orchid medium in the next size orchid pot
That happens a lot with orchids. They don't need to be repotted bu every couple of years, they like being root bound. I repotted one of mine when the orchid bark looked like it was breaking down too much and it immediately grew a flower stock and bloomed, it was the only one that hadn't. I only use the orchid bark with mine, it is easier to control the watering it needs by soaking the pot every seven to ten days in tepid water. As soon as my other ones loose their flowers it is time to repot them, I don't want to loose the flowers yet. You will see a lot of orchids with roots coming out of the mix, it really won't hurt it.
Buy specific orchid mix. Don't put in a much larger pot, they like to be crowded. Use on orchid pot for superior drainage. Use orchid fertilizer
thats pretty typical. Repotting is not necessary

Those extra roots are called air roots. They are not to be covered. I'm new at this and have learned how to care for orchids watching a lot of videos and reading. I also had to use a water culture just to save 2 sick ones i bought for a 1.00. They had root rot. Their doing fine now. I have 2 more I bought for 5.00 a piece and they are already putting out little babies. What a feeling of accomplishment when I saw that.
