You could transplant to a larger pot. It might be cramped.
Hi Traci,
It sounds like the plant is growing tubers which is how many perennials grow. You can dig up the tubers, if you want, and plant them somewhere else to start new plants. This is a normal process of some types of plants so don't worry. They aren't really tumors like humans get. Wishing you the best.
