Try white vinegar followed by baking soda in the tank and the toilet leaving it in the bowl long enough to remove the rust
CLR is a good product to try on bathroom fixtures.

Soak a rag with CLR and stuff it under the rim; let it sit overnight. That should work.

Seriously..don't even mess with buying all those cleaners. You can replace it very cheaply.
