Paint your old counter (it will be rubbish anyway) with the color blue you are contemplating and live with it for a bit. If you like it it in day and night lighting go ahead with your blue counters. If not, try another color. All you lose is the cost of a sample jar of paint.
While I love the blue pearl, it limits you down the line, is "trendy" and you may get tired of it. If you decide to sell, could be a hindrance. Go for a Carrera marble type look if you want to keep it classic. That will be a lot of white on white, so bring lots of color in with textiles and accessories otherwise it could appear stark, cold and uninviting.
You know, at least ONE person likes every color and pattern they make. Otherwise they would not make it. Since your cabinets are white any of the choices you mention will look great. One person's "too busy" is another person's "vibrant".
Try googling exactly that. White cabinets+slate tile+blue pearl granite. Click on the images tab and scroll through. You are bound to find a similar color combo in photos. We did this too before selecting our granite. Also, if you have a grey floor and white cabinets, I don't think anything would be too busy.
We had the blue pearl granite with white paneled cabinets and HW floors three houses ago and it was lovely! It was one of my favorite granites. It has nice depth and uniformity that looks very nice.
Currently we have Golden Persa ( irregular -lots of movement and some mica sparkle) with white shaker cabinetry , I regret the white maple cabinet choice—finish, its not as durable or high quality as Id expect and the contractors installation was less than perfect.
The granite is a huge cost and a big decision— take your time and be happy! We made at least 3 trips to the granite warehouse and finally ended up with it narrowed down easily —-to the first few choices written on the list.

Best wishes in your design and remodel adventures!
Hi Vimarhonor,
thank you for your reply. Still considering blue pearl, and will go once more to granite yard to help finalize my choice.
Thanks again and have a great day!
Lots of luck.
On thing I would consider in selecting such a personal color is, do you plan to sell anytime soon? cause that will not be as sellable in the future.
