Hi, this link should help, assuming that you said they were gold colored I am thinking brass. https://www.doityourself.com/stry/how-to-clean-brass-antique-furniture
are they metal
Rustoluem 2X spray paint. Tape off what you don't want painted. Several light coats will get you a smooth finish.
use gold paint or gold leaf you can get from hobby and craft stores
They are brass. Put some paper under the feet and polish them.
They have great detail
Weenol, Brasso, Wrights brass polish, are really good brass polishes available . Use an old Tshirt plus, or if you’re intense, ultra fine (00?) steel wool. Its an old table. Please do not polish glittery bright. Leave definition so people can see the design.
Put polish on, let it sit for 5 minutes, and rub it off.
You don’t want to involve water cause you have nice mahogany legs there.
I do mean solid brass. Once they’re done with one of 5he above, they should be good for a year or so
If you are talking about the ornate part only, you can use a gold pen for better ease and control. I used one on a French Provincial cabinet, and it was so much faster and easier to use. It is like a paint marker with a ball inside.
Brass polish. If they are solver on the underside, they may not be solid brass. Desperate- buy spray paint. I have done it , turned out fine.
Get King Midas to touch them.
I love the easiness of using liquid BarKeeper cleaner which I highly recommend. It's much better than Brasso or other brass cleaning products. Once you clean the feet and it still fails to show gold, I would suggest "Rub n Buff" in gold. A simple solution. Just wipe it on!
