I use pantyhose or knee highs.just cut the legs off of panty hose cut the length you need
I use the chain link fence around the back and one side of my garden. It works great. I use a nylon webbing that I bought at WalMart for my pole beans to increase the height of the fence for them, you could hang something like that between a couple of posts and they were be able to grab that on their own to spread. I don't have to tie up anything, just train it to the fence or nylon at one end that they grow to along with my pole beans.
I don't tie mine. I use a 3 foot wide strip of chicken wire. Hook the top to the side of the garage and stake the bottom to the ground. The vines climb right up.
I put a pole at each end of the row and then wrap twine from top to bottom from one end to the other and then criss cross. The cukes wrap around the twine and grow all over it.
