Cheapest way is a badminton racket from a thrift store
I read this on another post, but cannot remember where... fill a paper bag with plastic grocery bags to make the paper bag look full. Twist the top and bottom of the paper bag so it resembles a wasp nest. Hang it where the carpenter bees are doing their thing.

I have same problem. All I can do is monitor the drill holes under the deck. I spray hole with wasp spray then fill hole with wood glue. They do not attempt to drill there again. A long summer process... I have heard of a carpenter bee plug you stick in hole and they expand but can’t find the product. Maybe someone out there knows?
