Is it safe to replant peony?
I've heard it might be tricky. Is it true? What is the best way to that? It's this year's plant. No flowers yet.
just cut them down to the dirt.
leave them until they are completely brown, bulbs feed from foliage
Let them dry and then cut off.
Thats what I do too
Leave them alone until they turn completely brown. The tubers, roots are getting nourishment from the leaves.
Cut them down only after they've turned yellow & started to wither. If you remove green parts too early the bulb can't produce blooms the next year.
let the green parts turn yellow and wither then pull them off the flower with no harm to the bulbs but after about 5 or 6 years you will have to did the bulbs and separate them because they will bloom less if you leave them alone and not separate them. You will have more bulbs to give to your friends
after they turn yellow or start to dry out, trim them down to 2-3 inches from the ground
Martha Stewart has a video on “Braiding daffodil leaves”. Surprise to me but interesting.
