Plywood cut to size, with 1/4” foam and your choice of material. It can be pressed against the wall with the bed frame or mounted with heavy duty picture hangers.
You did not mention style so I found a somewhat flexible design that can mix into a variety of decors by changing fabric choice. You can check youtube, pinterest and houzz for an endless variety of wall mounted headboards. Here is a link to get you started. Good luck

Canvas. Durable and inexpensive and paintable. Take 2 - 4x8 quarter inch plywood. Have the second sheet cut into four pieces that will fit above your bed to the ceiling. Cut, if necessary to reach the ceiling. If you have taller than 8 foot, that's okay. Glue batting to the 4 cut pieces and cover with canvas, stapling on back. Nail from the back of the large pc. all the upholstered pcs on. Attach to wall using screws an anchors in only into dry wall along the edges of the large piece. To cover the screws, purchase furniture tack rolls and going along the outside of the completed head board. Good luck.
