Fix Burnt Grass & Dog Urine Spots With This Easy Solution!
Hi Marycheeks, Begin by raking up and removing burned dry grass from dog urine. Sprinkle in some extra fine ground limestone. You can get it from Home Depot or any home improvement store. Gently water the area to help the limestone into the soil. Let it set for a week. Then add soil and grass seed. Water daily for a couple weeks. You should expect the entire process to take about six weeks before you have grass.
Watch where fur baby goes. After their success sniff and dance just rinse with hose or water from your rain barrell. Bare spots are great for yard decor if the area is applicable. Otherwise grab a bag of super grass. You know the stuff that's capable of growing anywhere. Maybe garden stones might apply
put a SMALL amount of apple cider vinegar in drinking water and it takes the acid away and helps to stop the burning of the grass
Hi there, so sorry to hear that. It's a common problem. Dog urine is rich in nitrogen and ammonia so it acts as a liquid fertilizer in a concentrated amount. You can put a tablespoon of baking soda on the spot and water the area to dilute. I personally don't believe in giving your fur baby supplements to neutralize the nitrogen in their wee. It messes with their own body functions.
