have you seen the spools of rope chain at big box diy stores? See if they will sell you one of the smaller spools. Add a round pillow to the top, velcroed in place, so when rain hits you can take it in.
Go on a hunt to places like the Good Will, Salvation Army, or a Habitat Restore for a small coffee table, a piano or vanity bench, or a round wooden stool that you could cut down to size. If your patio is covered and out of the elements you could redo with chalk paint and then seal with a poly. If your patio is exposed to the elements you can paint with an exterior house paint after you prime.
Cover a plastic or wooden square container with foam padding, then vinyl material.
Storage box or seat or both? Try goodwill stores etc.
