Is it safe to replant peony?
I've heard it might be tricky. Is it true? What is the best way to that? It's this year's plant. No flowers yet.
Why not put in both.... add narcissus, and any other bulb plants too... add things that come up and bloom other times of the year too like lilies.
they will not perform with out full sun.http://homeguides.sfgate.com/flowers-grow-under-river-birch-tree-101119.html
glads need full sun
The glads would look like a row of soldiers on guard. Leave the tulips, and plant Hosta's around the tree. The Hosta's will hide the dying tulip leaves. The tulips will come up first then as they start to die down the Hosta plants will hide the yellowing foliage.
glads are pretty but usually need to be tied up or the flowers will be so heavy it makes them fall over.....best place is a sunny fence for support.
Great, thank you all! I really appreciate it, I am glad I waited to hear, I won't plant them there.
I started my glads inside in February, and planted them outside on mothers day. They get sunlight from the time the sun comes up until a little after lunch every day. I have them at the back of my garden with enough space to put a stake or lattice or something to secure them to when they get taller.
As I said my glads are at the back of my garden, and in front are shorter flowers, and in front of those are even shorter flowers and so on until the very front is creepers/ground cover.
If you have somewhere that gets at least 5/6 hours of sunlight and that you can put something to secure them too (even if it's just a stick secured in the ground) that would be the better place for them :)
