That would be a personal preference. Remember your gut instinct is always the right choice. If your not sure if you like it then over time you will grow to hate it. Listen to yourself more then on what over people like best. They don't have to live with it. I'd suggest buying one tile in each finish (or asking to get one time in each finish so you can see which finish looks better in your home before you make your final purchase). Some home improvement stores and especially the smaller guys will be glad to loan you one tile or sell you just one each especially if they think you will be making a purchase from them. Take them home and move them around, use tape to attach them to the wall in different places so you can see what they look like in bright sunlight, in deep dark corners and after nightfall. Then pick which one you and your family like best. Do keep in mind that whatever finish you choose it not only has to be pleasing to you and your family it will have to be cleaned so you will want one that's going to be easy to clean many times over the years.
