In a dorm room, or in an apartment?
a small tool kit, screwdrivers, measuring tape, allen wrenches, duct tape, zip tie fasteners, glue, doublestick tape, command stick-on hooks, plug-bars/power strips, maybe a usb charger with multiple ports, and the like. put it all in a canvas bag or small tool box/tackle box to keep it all together. I attended a college commencement today and visited the housing lived in by our honoree. It makes a huge difference if it is a boy or girl (generally speaking) It also depends on the person. What MM suggests my husband may have wanted but not our grandson. He had a cat, an organ, and a lot of guitars. It makes a huge difference if it is a dorm room or an apt. I had donated a tablecloth and it was on the table in October and also today. I had to wonder. . . had it ever been off? This was an apt off campus boys on first floor, girls on second. All together had a party for parents etc. in girls apt which was nice for guests! p.s. doesn't really matter if he doesn't know how to use tools, he did know how to do college and did it very, very well!

I have been doing this for years for my younger cousins. I also adds, hand sanitizer, some form of spray cleaner, bandaids, Advil, Neo-sporin type tube, small box of plasticware utensils, flashlight and batteries, and condoms!
