Pink Bathroom in Rented Apartment. What to Do?
This is my pink bathroom. The apartment is a rental, so I can't retile. What can I do to hide it or change its color?
Do you have to have a tub at all? Is there a separate shower? I'm asking because this looks very much like my daughter and SIL's bath. They took out the tub completely (and the shower) and combined them into a beautiful steam room type shower. They put glass blocks (designed for extra privacy) in the window and white subway tile with a dark gray grout. The shower was fitted with a tempered glass wall and door with no trim. They had a teak wood (waterproof) bench installed permanently and a new "rainfall" shower head, and a mid-level handheld shower. It looks beautiful. It was not a DIY project and also was not inexpensive, but it's a classic look that will last a long time.
I like this bathtub. It's large, it has jets (have had hip surgery), and vintage surround complements it. Tub is not ugly, it is cute. Step back and look at the pictures on line. Sometimes we are too close to things to see the beauty - if that makes sense. Try adding some new accessories or a live or artificial plant to jazz up the area.

Copy and paste link. This looks like your tub with instructions on how to remove.
Hope this helps
Agree with Naomi and Gvargo that the tub itself is not bad. Perhaps the surround is too country/Victorian for your taste. Consider taking out the beadboard and replacing it with stone or other tiles, I think you'll like it better. My sister recently redid her master bath in some beautiful stone tiles but kept the original fixtures. Please post a photo of your finished project. :-)
Wow. I want that tub. I will trade you my smaller garden tub for this one. Where do you live?
I live in Georgetown, TN. I am interested. Please send me a picture of tub.
Thanks
Regina
You can pick up all varying types of tile, or stone sheets that stick on or grout on from Homedepot or Lowes. They have such beautiful selections and so easy to apply, can get a little pricey depending on your selection. Recommend you talk to your local Homedepot , Lowe's tile department of you want to keep existing tub and just redecorate your bath.
Have fun.
