How about using a wide PVC pipes instead of the window planter. If you cut the PVC pipes in half a little should go a long way
You could collect pallets (free at most businesses), and tear them apart and build wooden boxes as planters.
You could just take the head board and foot board and measure them far enough apart for the window boxes you can afford to be placed in between them. You wouldn't actually need the spring part. But i can't see what's in your head as an idea, so that may not work either.
You might be able to purchase wide metal roof flashing and turn up the edges to create a tray or sides could be made from the same material and screwed together to hold the soil. Holes could be drilled for drainage. Be sure to plant some flowers too so you can refer to it as your flowerbed! :)
Build the boxes out of reclaimed wood
I would remove the springs center portion and grow flowers directly in the ground.
Dollar Tree (usually) has square shaped pots that could possibly fit. I can't see the springs very well, but if they are what I think they are, you can remove some of the springs so they'll fit.
