How do you get rose bushes to stay fuller from year to year?
My rose bushes look like they have started over every spring. i would like for them to look fuller every year instead of just a couple of stems.
Rose bushes like sun. Is it getting enough water? I like the rose food made by Espoma, called Rose Tone. It's sold in all garden supply stores and Amazon, and it's organic. Just follow the directions on the package.
If you are planting the rosebushes on the same spot they will get rose sickness. Roses don't like being planted where another rose bush had been planted previously. If it is not being planted in the same spot check for ants or termites. Try moving your rose to a new spot in the garden and make sure you don't plant it too deeply. The soil should not be above the juncture where the bush was grafted onto the root stock.
See if this helps! Roses love sun, and do require a fair amount of water. Are you fertilizing?

My mom's rose bush began dying and she didn't know why, and she finally sprayed a pesticide on it since it was near death and nothing else worked, and it came right back! She did not see any obvious bugs, but something was killing it, and that was her last resort, no expectations of revival.
It could be insects or a fungus.Treat it with a 3 in 1 insect, disease and fertilizer control by Bayer
Cut off the dead areas and get it fertilized. Sounds like it's lacking nutrients.
The jury is still out on this one but I have a very sad rose bush out front and we cut it all the way down last year during pruning time and are letting it grow back slowly. Good luck!
