There are several flowers that grow in the shade but my favorite is Impatiens because they are so colorful. I make sure to water and fertilize mine to keep them healthy. Another plant I like that is very pretty is Coleus. That doesn't flower but the leaves come in many colors and look wonderful Wishing you the best.
Hostas have flowers later in the season that would stand over everything else. Lily of the Valley have early flowers, but they do spread. You could put them in pots scattered in the garden to avoid the spread.
