You can pick up window film at Home Depot or Lowes that will filter out a lot of that sunlight. It comes in all kinds of designs and patterns. You are sure to find something to go with your decor. It is super easy to apply and even easier to take off.
There is a film you can buy at Wal-Mart or home depot to keep the sun out . I bought it to put on garage Windows .you can see through it ..it helps a lot .I take it off in winter . Put back in summer .Good luck .
Commission a stained glass panel to hang inside. Or get translucent adhesive backed vinyl (like Contact paper) to soften the sun's rays

From the look of your wicker, this is what I would do. Have your local hardware store cut a piece of wood to fit the space (light plywood). Paint it to match outside/ inside paint. Attach a white lattice over the outside paint color and screw the whole panel over the glass in about four to six places outside (you want to remove it after summer). You can then hang potted plants and/ or a wreath to the lattice. It should look great with your wicker.
Custom mini blinds.
sun blocking film
Use frosted window film - use a modern design (diagonal lines, thin and thick lines, circles, solid, etc.) for design and privacy. It isn't permanent, so you can change it as necessary.
You could have a faux stained glass, modern design on it, made on Plexiglas and hang it in the window.... HOWEVER... that will not stop the sun from making the area hot..... the only way to do that is to keep the sun off of the glass to start with (we live in Phoenix, AZ... so I know)... consider having a custom Shade Screen made for that area... they are made to look like a regular window screen and would be fitted to the window frame... you can see thru it quite easily...but they do block visibility into the window (unless lights are on inside) or... have a nice wood frame made to free stand outside the window... and put some nice bamboo screen, etc on it... only use it in the summer and store it in the cooler months...
Great Idea....Thanks.
I would use a vynel shower curtain to make stained glass, as insulating and blocks some or all the sun. Find one you like and cut to size ( I just use a utility knife really sharp) it will stick to the window with just water and can be changed with the seasons
