Are you asking if you should? I had carpets on my stair and liked it. I recently took it off due to years of dirt and redecorating. Very loud when walking up and down the stairs now so I may at least put a new carpet-runner on staircase
There are pros and cons of carpet covered stairs and non carpet covered stairs. Agree with Kebrady59 that one of the biggest differences is that non carpet covered stairs are much noisier. They are more slippery as well.
People with pets find that carpet covered stairs are harder to keep clean, as the carpet retains pet fur.
There is no right or wrong- go with the one that you prefer, and the one that best fits your lifestyle.
