How about giving the inspectors at your local permit office a call? Get their "off the record" opinion, and see if they would use in their own homes?
I could not find the brand name that you mentioned. Reflectix is sold by Home Depot and their installation manual is available at homedepot.com. Reviews there are positive.
Even foil or radiant barrier insulation has no R value by itself. The savings depend on air gap, angle of assembly, existing insulation, etc.
