There are devices that use propane to attract and kill mosquitoes. Having lived on the edge of a swamp in Michigan I became a fan of Deep Woods Off!. There were just so may mosquitoes at some times that the only way to keep them away was personal protection.
To keep mosquitos out of your immediate patio area for a BBQ or eating out, fill a spray bottle with Listerine and spray the patio and lawn out as far as you can. They will stay away. For personal use, Johnsons Baby Oil with aloe vera and Vitamins will keep them off, but it is like $47.95 a small tube from what I can find. I bought the store brand with the same ingredients and will try it. You might want to try the same. Also, a friend orders hers from Avon made for being a repellent without toxins in it.
