How do I change the screen in my living room window?
The screen is thin and old and has a tear down at the bottom. There are clips that hold the screen in place. Does anyone know how to repair a window screen or how to replace it?

You should be able to buy new flywire. Then just take the screen down, remove the old wire mesh and clip in your new place. Have done this a few times over the years. Hazel
Take the screen down. Take it to a home improvement store like Home Depot, Lowe's,etc. They will order you a new one. Taking it to them gets you the correct size
take it down and look at it, some screen material is held in by a tiny rubber type cord if that is the case for you, you can buy the plastic screening, and cording, take it home measure out what you need allowing for the rubber cording to press some down, you will want to use something rounded and not sharp to press it down into the run. once you do it you will find it easy and sort of fun.
I replaced my screen in a patio door .I used a pizza cutter to roll my rubber spleen in the screen .Good luck
Use the small brush on your vacuum and carefully go over the screen. You can also gently wipe it down with a solution of dish liquid and warm water.
You can just remove the spleen and take the old screen out. HD & Lowes sells screening at a reasonable price. I re-screened all mine with solar screening. Buy the rubber spleen and a spleen tool. A pizza tool could cut the spleen and you do not want to do that. Put your new screen over the opening. do not cut the spleen, run it around the opening in the channel. Use the tool to push it in while gently tugging on the screen, When you get to the last side pull it taught and cut the spleen when you have reached the other end. You can then cut the screen with a scissors to fit the hole.
