Too many books! How can I organize this mess?
I need your help!!!
Well placed curtains hanging from the ceiling can divide even small rooms into specific spaces and provide privacy. Regarding storage, the most space saving kids storage I have found has been turning old pallets into shelves. They usually only stick out four inches from the wall. Be careful tho, sand them down thoroughly because pallets cone unfinished. Use paint or stain to match any decor. They are perfect for containing books and plush toys. Cubbies with pull out bins are also great for kids random toys, but take up more space.
Instead of a changing table, save space by keeping a decorative basket on hand filled with wipes, diapers, and a changing mat. You can easily pull it out to change your grandchild in the living room, on the bed, or anywhere on the floor, without taking up valuable space with bulky furniture.
If child is ready for a youth bed you can use baby bed mattress & make cute headboard or can continue with baby bed. You can add bed skirts then buy totes and slide under adult bed and child's (can purchase with little wheels). A privacy screen would be nice to use from time to time between the two beds just make sure it is stable and child can't knock over. You can also use a bench for seating with storage under it for needed items or toys. Lots of ideas and thank you for helping your granddaughter and family out during their difficult time. In our world today that doesn't happen enough... that we reach out in love!
