for continuous color you will have to add evergreens
It isn't as elaborate as what you are describing, but, I have a little corner of my yard. It's under a shady tree, and I have a large concrete angel statue and a concrete bench. Behind the angel is a section of privacy fence. I vary the flowers year to year. I had a metal arch that I was training morning glories on, but, the base rusted, so I took it down. I place pots of colorful flowers there, and I have solar spotlights that shine on her at night. It's a peaceful retreat for me.
to add to the answer place solar lights, wind chimes, and garden statues
To me you need shrubs to make it hidden, mine is a winding woodland of large rhododendrons, huckleberry, hydrangea, camelia bushes with bird baths, buddhas, water features in various nooks and crannies - everyone who comes in my yard is surprised by how pretty it is cause from the street it kinda looks like a jungle.... but in it, there is tons of flowers and wildlife. I am in the process of adding a fern garden with a large buddha in it.
