No you did not kill them, you may have stunted their growth for this season, but they will recover. Calla lilies are one of my favorites! They do not do well at my house - so happy you can grow them! 🌞🌿
You should have waited.the only thing at this point is make sure you keep them in indirect lighting to recover as most likely they will go into shock.do not over water
Hi Kathy......I live in the Chicago area, and dig up my Calla Lily bulbs after they bloom and the stalks are browning. I store them over winter in a dark place that wont freeze , (like a basement ), in a brown paper bag, and replant them in late spring. If you dig up the over crowded bulbs , they may not be as mature , as necessary to replant next year.
