    Hi Donnalunt,

I'm sorry you didn't have success with the cider vinegar & dish soap. My local fruit market uses that formula in the summer when locally grown fruits are on their stand. I found a website with a few other ideas for you. Starting with leftover red wine, mashed bananas and a few other ideas. Click here to read the list. Wishing you the best.

Do you have any fruit out, or any vegtables?

Hi Donnalunt, gnats can be distressing and aggravating, who needs that? I use Simple Green spray in the drains. That is where they live. Spray them daily in every drain for a week to ten days, then weekly for any more that come in on fruit etc from the local markets and stores. Simple Green is non toxic to people and animals, but kills any insects. It is also a disinfectant and deodorizer. You can get it in full concentrate in Walmart in the auto/boat/camping area and also in the cleaners in Menards and other home improvement stores. Menards carries both the spray and concentrate. We buy both.

Do you have plants inside, they could be fungus gnats in which case the plants have to be re-potted.fungus gnats lay eggs in the soil and spraying alone will not get rid of them

Sometimes Gnats wont take the bait.

Pour boiling water down every drain in your house to kill the eggs and larvae. Then get a paper plate and spray oil. Coat the plate face with oil and swat at gnats. They will stick to the oil for a second so after each swat, spray your new catch with a little more oil to seal the deal.

    I hope that helps

    😊
