Want to paint door and poles only. Should I also paint all the facia?

paint on aluminum is difficult, must be the best paint that you can afford, and spray is much better than brush or roller, streaks and lines, that you will not like.
Hi Tiffany. I think painting the door and poles will be just fine as long as the color doesn't clash with the facia. A grey would look nice with the stone.
Try this tap picture
What are the undertones in your stone? Copper or rust shades? If the stone is light enough, darker shades of red or green might also work. Get paint chips to hold against door, to check prior to painting. Cream colored paint should work on storm door and poles to provide contrast, better than current white.
Ok, first, try goo gone on the sticky residue. Personally I don't like storm doors on the front of a home, so I would remove it. Since it's under a covered porch the door will be protected for the elements. When that's taken care of, clean the poles and facia. You can try a power washer, but use it on a low setting until you see how it's doing. Scrap and sand where there are problems with the existing paint. Then clean again. Cover the screw holes on the door jam and paint it the color that of the window jams. Use a good quality paint like a Benjamin Moore exterior paint for everything. I would paint the poles white and the door red . The red framed door with the white poles will draw the eye right to your entrance. Be sure to plant some red flowers in your garden.

White screen door and poles with a darker grey door would unite all three with the grey stone. It should look sharp when done.
