You could always get a roll of vinyl flooring (remnant) from Lowe's or Walmart! It would be slippery, and you could re use it at your next party! However, this may not be good if wearing high heels!

Recycled pallets for the base and plywood for the top. That way after the party you can use the plywood in a project.

Frame it out the size you want with 2 x 4's and lay plywood on top.
Call a rental company and see if they have a small one that you can rent from them. It will be one less thing you have to worry about.
I would go with Cindy's suggestion. 2X4 frame and a couple sheets of plywood.
