Can I repair a formica counter top?

I accidently burned a hole in my counter top. And I am at a loss what to do to fix the problem. Any help would be nice.

I've mixed paint to match and faux painted it to disguise it. Don't know what else you can do.
Look for an epoxy glue the same color and fill in burt spot.
Oh Dear Leah!!! My mother-in-law sat a hot skillet on her counter top and burned a pretty big spot! So she had her husband put in a cutting board that you used to could buy at the big box store!
After you get this fixed, make sure you set cutting boards around to always have one handy. I have 2 next to may stove and on next to the sink!
She had always like the large cutting board I had installed in my counter back in the early 80's.
