Roundup kills poison ivy.
Wear gloves. Snip part of the poison Ivy and buy tordon. You only need to add a few drops of this into the plant and it will wither and die.
Dissolve one cup salt in a gallon of water and add a tablespoon of dish soap to create a solution that can be sprayed on poison ivy

Hi Annette, hope this helps you. Try cutting the vine about 6" above where it comes out of the ground. Put some full strength white vinegar on both of the cut ends by dipping them into a cup full of white vinegar. Do this all along the length of the vines. Repeat if necessary. by doing it this way, you are only killing the ivy.
