I'm about to put a laminate floor in my master bath. Is it necessary to pull up the stand-alone shower, toilet and vanity? What type of padding should I use?

When my laminate was laid, the installer told us that the flooring was not rated to have a heavy weight on it (the floor "floats'), so, he cut around and finished off the edges against the cabinets and appliances.
Beware, regardless of what box said ours bubbled where light water has been on it. I'd use tile.
