How can I refinish, update, or paint cedar ship lap walls?
Sounds fabulous. I vote for a couple of pieces of large dramatic artwork.
There are any number of sites on line offering posters and prints of any scale, depending on the size of your walls and what suits your decor, and what makes you smile.
Gym seal is only a varnish. Why can't you sand the walls and use filler in the panelings seams, then paint the walls. I have paneling throughout my house 40+ yr old too. I cleaned miy walls, and use Dap plastic wood filler that is pink, and turns white after it has dried. Then I took a damp rag to get rid of the excess filler. Doing that makes a whole lot less dust than using sand paper. Then primed the walls and painted it.
