How to control the bamboo in my yard?

when the former owner, who flips houses, bought this one he sold me at auction, the entire yard was overrun with tall, fast-growing bamboo. He had it removed but for several rows for privacy at the fence. I don’t want it to take over again

Bamboo has to be contained, or roots will take over your yard, and perhaps that of your neighbor. It should be planted in tall, sturdy, trough style containers that prohibit the roots from escaping. Dig it up and replant, if you prefer, but make sure you've captured all of the roots. Privet hedge, Forsythia, Rose of Sharon, etc. can provide privacy without the sprawl, but will take longer to attain height.
Hi, dig in a root barrier. You will probably have some sprout up here and there, but dug up early (use young shoots in stir fry) you can keep it controlled. And congrats on your new home.

Thanks to both. The owner suggested I plant Norfolk pine trees in Front of the bamboo. I couldn’t imagine how that would stop the bamboo spread
Idk where you live, but here in Atlanta, since they have Pandas, I've read that they'd be glad to come get any bamboo you don't want.
Wow really! I live 20 miles west of Asheville but I visit a friend in Atlanta. I suppose they only want fresh daily but I’ll check into closer zoos....thx
