How do you kill BAG WORMS, new pest for me, cocoon type??

I can't stand those pests! I even pick them off by hand when I see them, but here is a much simpler way to rid them:

I have the same question. I used to pick them one by one but my bald pine trees are growing big. They are full of them now including my knockout roses. I can cut my knockout roses during winter but not my bald pine trees they are lined up our driveway way. Help!!!

Go to your local nursery and tell them you have bag worms. There is an insecticide you can spray your tree that will kill the worms but it must be done before they get into their bags. We had about three infected trees two years ago and now the worms are gone. The time you spray has a lot to do with getting rid of the worms.

Bacteria: Bt, the bacteria Bacillus thuringiensis, is effective at controlling bagworms if it’s applied as soon as the eggs hatch in the spring. Don’t wait too long—this bacteria won’t be as effective when the larvae have grown large. Follow the application instructions on the product you buy, and apply it with a garden sprayer. Follow up and reapply every seven to 10 days until the bagworms are gone.
