You could try a mixture of water, vinegar, and salt to help kill the odor. Rinse and let dry
I pull the carpet, it gets in the pad and in the wood below the pad. If you don't clean the wood I don't believe u can get rid of the order. Very best of luck with this.
Vinegar and baking soda as a paste will clean and deodorize the area. Apply the paste, leave about 15-30 minutes. Wipe the paste up with a barely damp sponge until all the paste is gone. Cover the area with dry baking soda, then cover with a dishcloth or towel and leave overnight. Then vacuum or wipe the sofa up. If you still smell any pee, wipe the area again with a barely damp sponge, sprinkle with baking soda, cover, and leave for another day. Best wishes to you, Shirley. ☺️
Nature's Miracle from the pet store neutralizes urine smell pretty well. Not sure why shampoo turned it rock hard. But you may be able to remove the urine with an oxi-clean solution but it could affect the color (esp on top of the weird reaction to shampoo.)
Natures miracle soak the area with it so it gets the carpet pad.
