If your crafty Google dog step instruction, or use wooden crates, I've actually got 8X8 posts cut lift over from putting o deck and roof of my second story and we cut them the size we needed and put 20 penny nails in the so the stay secure and the girls love them. I also have a set that came with my other bed. If you don't have he a lite to cut/saw A. Hardware and lowes will cut to the size you need. Good luck.
If you can buy wooden crates about 5” y’all (or a foot, if your dogs are big, this idea will be pretty easy. Place four crates upside down on the floor or area rug. Nail or staple the crates together. Place two crates as the second step on top, six inches in from the front. Nail or staple these crates to the first row. The third step is two crates, 6” more from the front. The fourth and fifth rows, if needed, will still be balanced and attached the same way. You may prefer to use strong glue for porous materials like Elmer’s Strong Glue, Gorilla Glue, or E6000–get the porous materials kind, because you are working with wood. Sand as needed, then stain or paint, then seal with polyurethane. If you use fabric instead of paint, make it easy to remove, because it will get dirty. Best wishes, Loretta! ☺️
