The furniture is original to a beach condo. Still in good shape but top is scratched and glass definitely requires upkeep. Thanks
I love Chalk Paint
You can sand off the top of the table and use some walnut stain and poly or you could use a combined stain/poly product that requires very little sanding. Minwax makes one. The table legs and frame can be painted with chalk paint and then waxed. As for your color there are lots of variations in white chalk paint. I would take a door off the cabinet and bring it to the store to find the right color or pick up some sample pamphlets for the various brands so you can bring it home and match the cabinet. You may have to check out a few different brands to find the color that matches the best. Annie Sloan, Country Chic, Rustoleum Chalked, Americana, Fusion (mineral paint) are all good brands of chalk paint--and there's more! You are just not going to find all the brands in one store. What a great project! It's going to look awesome!
Here's more information for you Avia regarding the benefits of chalk paint!
Chalk paint comes in a variety of colors. It requires little or no sanding. You can choose to distress your project or leave it solid. It is forgiving--meaning if you make a mistake most of it sands off easily before it is sealed. The paint goes a long ways. It hardens/cures to a very strong finish. (Note: some brands are far better than others when it comes to coverage and wearability--I am a fan of Annie Sloan for furniture that gets a lot of use) It can be sealed with wax or poly. (Note if sealing with poly over white use a water based poly so it doesn't yellow with time). There are many brands to try and you can even make your own chalk paint. Have fun with your project Avia!
Thanks Gk! I am going to try the chalk paint! Sounds perfect!
