I have a L shaped countertop frame, so can I place new formica over

The original wooden L shaped framework needs an update. So is there any material that can be placed on top of the original ?? I wanted to keep the original wooden framework

    Do you want the wood itself to be visible? If so, staining it in your choice of color would be a good option. If you want to hide the wood, there are all kinds of painting techniques (i.e. faux marble or granite) that would be a lot less expensive and less hassle than covering it with tile.

    If the counter is in good shape why not just paint it or use a kit from a home improvement store to give it a marble or granite look?

    Yes, Catherine, you can put tile right on top of wood. Just follow this guy's directions for tiling his wooden table.

      Very helpful! My L shaped counter has linoleum that has been glued on top a wooden L shape. I can not remove the linoleum , so How do I Place large squares over the linoleum?
