I want to paint the stone on the front of my house. Any suggestions?
The stone that is part way up the front of my house looks terrible with the slate on my porch. Not my DYI project! I’d like to paint the stone using four similar colors and colors that blend with the slate. To make it look as natural as possible I thought I’d use chalk paint but it’s not suitable for outside. I considered painting the stone using masonry paint and then sponge a water downed shade of white over the painted stone to get the look I’m going for. Has anyone ever tried that? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you. Susan

Masonry stain works very well, can’t peel. Will require power washing first. Can’t go “lighter”. It will stain other things too, so prep work is important.
