Angel, Is it an acrylic tub/ shower?
Angela, I’m not sure what acrylic has to do with it, but this is what I do:
i buy a spring-loaded shower curtain or two. I put the less expensive rod in the tub area, then twist the two ends of the rod to make the rod tight against the wall. I place cheap metal or plastic curtain hooks on the rod and hang the shower curtain liner. This curtain is to stay inside the tub. This rod may need to be hung lower because liners are often shorter than fancy shower curtains. The fancy shower curtain which stays out of the tub, I hang on a nice shower rod. Then I twist the two sides of the rod to make the rod fit tightly against the walls. Dry wall, acrylic, fiberglass, and tiles should all be fine with curtain rods because the rods a padded and not sharp. If you want the liner and the main curtain to be on the same rod, hang them both on the same rings, or on alternating different ones. Make sure the liner stays in the tub for drying, spray the bottom to help prevent mold and mildew. And if you don’t like the curtain ride, you can paint the ends. Thin plastic covers for the rod itself, in several colors, are sold at Walmart and more. Best wishes ☺️
My tub has one tension rod with both the tub liner and fabric curtain on the same set of hooks. Wash your liner and curtain before hanging up the first time. Reduces the chance of mold and mildew.
