How do you waterproof a deck floor for dry area below?

I want to waterproof a 2nd level deck. I prefer a plywood coating vs PVC vinyl, which also is very expensive.

Hi Nathan: Are you trying to keep water from going down from one deck to the other?

Hi there, they do make specific plastic pieces that you can use under your deck boards. I managed to find some pics of them but am still having a hard time finding their exact name... I'm thinking you might be able a DIY alternative though that would be less expensive.

Nathan please let me know what you end up doing. I am in the same predicament. I have an upper balcony with a lovely place underneath which I always set up my rug and summer furniture but when it rains---- it would be nice to be under there. Good luck. Have even thought of doing the lattice with white lights and vines but the rain defeats that idea.
