My hardware stores home depot, and lowes carry large painting canvas very inexpensive. To prevent ripping with just making holes you'll want to get gomments, they make a hole with a metal circle on both sides, but use a hammer to adhere unless you want to spring for the pliers. YouTube will be able to show you better than I can explain. Some people paint the canvas white. I hope it all goes well for you.
If you don’t want to make the time and money investment of canvas, you could replace the canvas with a flat bed sheet (preferably king-size and white). Paint ONE SIDE of the sheet with a white (or white-ish) latex paint in flat or eggshell finish. If you paint both sides, the paint could end up sticking to itself. I would put the grommets in after I painted. Or I might just make fabric loops or ties, like are used to hang a quilt.
Then, when outdoor movie season is over, I’ll fold my screen into a long, accordion-style strip (so no painted part of the surface is touching any other painted part), and roll it up—painted side in—to store until next summer.
Hi! Hope this (easy-peasy) video will be of some help!

...now all you need is popcorn!!
Have fun!
All you need is a white wall. This can be a building, a concrete wall, or even just a sheet. You could attach a white sheet with 2 dowel rods parallel and rolled up for transporting it. We used to have garden parties and just hanged a large white sheet. If a sheet is hanging freely (say with the dowel rods attached top and bottom) you can see a movie from BOTH sides!
