Day lilies not blooming?
What is wrong with my day lilies. In the spring they flower beautifully then after the first blooms I have what looks like buds but rarely get flowers. Do I need to feed them to flower again or what? Thank you

Daylillies bloom in late summer here. After the blooms are done that it rill next year.
Day lilies also need to be divided or they will get crowded and not bloom at all.
As far as I know day lilies do not continuously bloom. One season only.
Yes, daylilies only bloom once a year.....what you are seeing are not buds....Not sure what they are, but mine have the things on them that look like seed pods. Wish they did bloom more than once a year....love them.
Yes they must be like Irises- mine only bloom once
Daylilies love sun and water. Some do rebloom but they need lots of water and sun!
These buds need to be cut off. They will drain plant of nutrients. Be sure to divide everyb3-4 years ir Lillieās will stop blooming. Some years mine will put off s second bloom and some years they will not. I always fertilize every month in Spring which starts their growing season and stop fertilizing after flowering. They need a rest. If second bloom appears, Instart fertilizing again until blooms stop. Good luck!
To keep them blooming remember to remove the dead buds. Sometimes when temperatures get really hot mine will slow down or stop and then pick back up again in the early fall. I propagate mine every other year and sometimes the year I do that the blooms are fewer.
