How to protect wooden floors?
We have just had wooden floors installed in our living room, dining room and kitchen. I need to know the best way to protect the floor in the living room from the large metal mechanism under the reclining sofa and chair. Thank you.

I bought a carpet remnant and cut it to fit under my recliner so the feet rest on it. Protects the floor from the mechanism and metal feet.
I have area rugs on my wood floors.
We put felt "feet" on all our tables, chairs, bookcases and cabinets. The mechanism does not touch the floor, so we didn't worry about that.
Placing a piece of carpet under the entire chair might ruin or discolor the floor in that area, so you should check periodically to assure that is not happening. Good luck.
I suppose that finding something high enough to put under the feet would raise the 2 pieces of furniture would do the trick as the entire mechanism of the sofa always dug into the carpeting and will do the same to the wooden floors. I will look around to see what I can find. Thanks.
The problem with adding high feet it will raise the center of gravity and throw them off balance. Especially when operating the mechanism. Otherwise the manufacturer would have done it.
