Cane backed dining chairs need new cane. What can I do instead?
Replacing cane is expensive. I want to update, but keep the low-key, elegant look.
Do you want to upholster the seats or cover the cane backs?
You could cut some pieces of 1/8" plywood and upholster them using a layer of foam and batting on the wood. Inset your upholster pieces then finish with trim using a hot glue gun.
