I have applied clear blue to the outer edges and then sprinkle glitter on the glued edges. I hold the cone over a coffee filter to catch the excess glitter!
Used ELMER GLUE (CLEAR)
I noticed in a visit to my daughter's log cabin that she had a square pine cone wreath on the wall. I examined it and it seemed to be constructed with no base. . . so maybe glued together? I didn't see any wires. I once copied an idea from a magazine and that was to fasten 3 pinecones together and hang them over the top of a picture. They still are there. I loved that idea.

This is a holiday idea but my mother in law used to paint them gold and display them with her Christmas decorations.
I also used them on the fireplace when we had thanksgiving dinner on the back porch. https://lifeonsummerhill.com/hygge-thanksgiving-table/
I just filled an old galvenized bucket type thing with pinecones and set it on our front porch last Christmas and added a plaid bow to the side!
