Painted my back splash...Now...what do I do with my counters??
I painted my back splash in a off white. And it certainly DID brighten up the overall look of the kitchen. BUT, I still 'hate' the look of my counters. What should I do with them? I am NOT changing the colour / look of the cabinets, however..I am replacing the hardware on them. Should I paint them too? What colour? I was thinking black or possibly a 'grey'. My appliances are slate. The counters are ceramic tiles as well...I know; What were they thinking???!!! And the colours are awful!!!! The floors are just as bad! Any suggestions would be helpful please.

Laura, Hi. You can put a roller to the counters, I think a light grey would be nice. Check with Home Depot for kits they have and the correct paint to paint the counters. Good Luck !

I've seen a lot of people using Giani Countertop Paint Kit and they are love it.
Hi, You could use Tile covers!
You should paint your cabinets! White is very popular and it would make a world of difference. You can use the door pulls you already have. They'll look wonderful against the white doors. BTW... The honey oak cabinets should have never been invented!
I'd paint the backsplash the gray color you were talking about. It would be a great contrast against the white cabinets. Or, you could buy flashing, and install it on your backsplash. That's what I did where my stove is. It's an easy clean-up and cheap. Buying new counter tops would be easier than painting those tiles. They're not expensive and I'm sure you'd be happy with the outcome. Good luck with whatever you decide.
Check the countertops available at your lumber company. Perhaps you will find one you like and they are not difficult to install.
Not sure if this option in available to you in Canada, but I just bought a countertop paint kit to paint over my tile countertops. $78 USD, from Walmart, online. In one weekend, I should be able to make my countertop look like granite! I have to wait until the temperature stays above 70 in the house, but I can’t wait to see how it turns out. Go to this website and see if you can order it: www.gianigranite.com Videos are available on the site as well.
One kit covers 35 square feet. Multiple colors available. I’m going to order the optional epoxy topcoat to make the finish more durable, as it isn’t included in the kit. This kits will save you the HUGE hassle of taking out the old countertop, and it looks like the real thing on their website! The “chocolate brown” color would be lovely with your cabinets🙂
